A small green bird, smaller than a house sparrow , seen in New Delhi with silver rings round black eye?
Often found in the company of sparrows and bulbuls and flitting around hedges . Loves to take dips in numbers of 3-4 in my birdbath. very restless and always flitting from branch to branch and has a small shril chirp. can i get its name and if possible a couple of photos.
That would be an Oriental white-eye, or Zosterops Palpebrosus. They are in order Passeriformes, same classification as the sparrows. They have greenish-yellow plumage and yes, their size is smaller than the house sparrow. They are seen individually or in small groups, often in low areas about our eye-level.
